Contrario. Vineria con Cucina.

We stumbled upon this place after our Colosseum and Forum tour in search of a cooler place to sit and revive after the heat.
The food was probably one of our better meals in Rome.
Very fresh ingredients and homemade pasta.
Service was very attentive as well.
Highly recommend!

We loved this restaurant so much we dined there 3x during our wonderful week in Rome.
Our Airbnb was right around the corner and we were so happy to be so close to this gem of a restaurant.
Our server Tarek went above and beyond with the service as did co-owner Claudio.
He knew so much about the wine list, which is actually an expansive book of wines.
He gave options at all price levels which we loved.
Now the food - you have to try the burrata and artichoke or the zucchini flowers appetizers! All the pasta dishes we had were outstanding as were the chicken rolls special.
Definitely get the lava cake for dessert.
Our last night there was extra special as we got to spend more time with Tarek & Claudio because it was not as busy as the previous nights.

This place was a great place to eat.
I would say it is medium to upper medium priced but has an eclectic menu with a twist on traditional Italian food.
We had a burrata with sun dried tomato and artichoke appetizer.
It was outstanding, fresh and great flavor.
Then we had the zucchini flowers stuffed with a carbonara cheese and a amatriciano cheese flavored filling.
These were different and excellent.
Then we had a kind of carbonara with zucchini flowers.
Again a little different twist and an excellent flavor.
I wanted to try the whole menu but we needed to eat light and get to a tour.
I saved this restaurant to come back to.
The owner and wait staff were excellent and the atmosphere was great
