City Barbeque

Had lunch here and it was a pleasant experience.
Being a Tuesday it was a ribs special day.
You can buy individual ribs (1 bone) for a discounted price.
I had a hard time deciding what to get as the menu was enticing and I wanted to try it all.
The people at the counter were helpful and once I placed my order it was just a few minutes before it was ready.
They have about 4 BBQ sauces that you can choose from and there is a menu board that describes the differences between them.
I enjoyed the chicken and ribs.
I had the greens and mac n cheese on the side - not my favorites.
I also had a taste of the brisket - excellent!!

I just left this place, City Barbeque 8948 J M Keynes Dr #420, Charlotte, NC 28262 I ordered the Sampler so I could taste a little of everything.
I substituted the pork for turkey.
It came with two sides, and I added one.
The brisket was old and dry like it was from the day before.
The business open up at 11:00 AM.
I came in at 11:30 AM.
so the food should be fresh, but wasn't.
The turkey was dry and some of the slices were still cold from the refrigerator.
The macaroni and cheese had crunchy noodles, no flavor and no cheese sauce.
The coleslaw had absolutely no flavor.
No pepper and absolutely no salt.
Smoked chicken quarter, no flavor, Just plain Jane.
Baked beans had HUGE amounts of pork in it that took up most of the container.
The sides seemed like a waste of money but so did the meat.
The sauces they provide was mediocre.
The drink section was so nasty that I asked for a drink refund.
Place is beginning to get dirty, I can tell it's been awhile since inspection.
Please be careful eating here.
Food was reused.
I came at the opening of the day so there was no excuse.
I give this spot a F.
Especially since I been on the toilet since I left.
Ugh prices are way to high for no reason.
Please clean up in there and outside (very dirty)......Listen, If your looking for real BBQ in Charlotte sounding area be sure to go to the "SMOKE PIT" located in ( Gastonia NC) they are 20xs better.
Flavor on everything you touch.
Hot food,Worth every penny.
Very clean establishment. Take my word for it this is a real review.

Was in town for a tournament and stop to grab a bite to eat before leaving out of town.
Barbecue always sounds good, especially when you’re hungry! I ordered Beef brisket, Mac n cheese, and collard greens.
When I received my order, each thing I ordered was individually in a plastic bag.
Not a carry out box or anything.
The brisket was wrapped in paper with my buns slapped beside it, and the 2 sides were in their own little container, all handed to me in the plastic bag.
(??) Ok, I suppose that’s just their way of service, so I got to my car and started eating my food.
The brisket was ok, I got some really dry slices for some reason, but not all was dry.
I added the bbq sauce (sweet) to eat but didn’t care for the flavor of it, so I tried to wipe it off my meat.
Anyway, started on the collards and I loved the texture and the fact that they had meat in them, and I loved that they had a crunch.
The Mac n cheese was ok, I suppose they tried… overall I would give this place a 3 due to the fact that it’s not flavorful, like what I’m used to to at the bbq restaurants in Upstate of SC.
I wouldn’t spend my $$ on a return trip but idk, try it for yourself! 💁🏽‍♀️
