with this place is it will ruin all other Chinese restaurants for you.Absolutely the best noodles in Austin.Spicy lamb is my go to.Also, hands down best dumplings I’ve ever had.Mr. Chen is a very nice guy with such a talent for what he does.He will make the noodles right there in front of you and there’s nothing like his fresh noodles.I cannot recommend this place enough.I absolutely love it.
Excellent dining at this “hole in the wall” noodle joint! We were looking for a unique spot in Austin and got directed here via Tik Tok.Great hand pulled noodles, very fair prices. The food and services was fast, plenty of options of how to enjoy the noodles…dry or in soups. We went with a beef noodle soup and a lamb noodle soup.I really enjoyed my lamb, nice tender chunks. And the beef was really good too! The sides were fun and we went with a scallion/green onion pancake so good we got a second order, I think they were only $3 and the noodle bowls were $11. Definitely recommend!
Chen's Noodle House (陳記麵館) might not have elaborated decorations inside or out, but provides that familiar dining experience that I had in either China or Taiwan. We ordered the Beef noodle soup, spicy dumpling soup and cold pork (appetizers). All dishes had unique but familiar tastes of back home cooking; the portion size generous and the price was very reasonable.I am more than happy to have "discovered" this place and will definitely be revisiting to try other dishes. As of January 2024: I decided to try their "Mala Beef Fun", which is transparent noodles in numb-spicy (Ma-la) soup. Not bad, but I was expecting a little more numbness...😅😅😅
