I recently dined at Beatrix and was pleasantly surprised by the delightful experience.I tried their espresso martini, French toast, and chicken enchiladas, and each dish was a treat in its own right. Firstly, the service was excellent.Despite the busy atmosphere, the staff remained attentive and friendly throughout the meal, enhancing our overall enjoyment. Now, onto the food. The espresso martini was expertly made, balancing the bold coffee flavor with a hint of sweetness, making it a perfect pick-me-up cocktail. The French toast was decadent, with a fluffy texture and a wonderful combination of flavors that made it a standout breakfast option. However, the star of the show was definitely the chicken enchiladas. They were packed with flavorful chicken, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and topped with a delicious sauce and melted cheese.Every bite was a burst of savory goodness, leaving me craving more. In conclusion, Beatrix offers not only great food but also excellent service, making it a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

We're so happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit Bardia! We hope to see you again soon!
Initially, I was looking for another cafe to have brunch after a morning walk down Magnificent Mile. As I was walking, I overheard two people talking about how good the brunch was at Beatrix.Never one to pass up random unsolicited advice I hear in passing, I decided to detour to Beatrix.Glad I did. The place was packed to the gills , so I was expecting a long wait but after about 7 - 10 minutes we were seated. The ambiance inside is very active and lively. There was an air of business but not chaos. The space is bigger than it appears from the outside and even from the entrance. As you enter there is a bar/bakery area and to your left is a much bigger dining area, still very much packed. The entire restaurant was very clean and the tables were spacious and sturdy. Our waitress immediately made us feel at home, making a few suggestions and answering any questions we had.I ordered a Latte.Water was brought to us and our coffee shortly thereafter.I ordered the Chimichurri Steak and Eggs. The place was busy so I expected a short wait on the food but it wasn’t too long.We enjoyed sipping our coffee and conversation while waiting. The steak and eggs were good. They weren’t spectacular and about what I expected. The portion of steak and hash browns were a bit small in my opinion but nothing outrageous. The toast and the chimichurri were fine as well.It was a decent breakfast/brunch for what I paid. Beatrix was a nice spot to sit and visit while having a cup of coffee.I liked the ambiance. It was vibrant but not annoying. It’s definitely a place where people go to get together. The food is not spectacular but it’s also not disappointing either.I would go back and eat there again when I visit Chicago again.
We arrived at 2:45 pm for a late lunch and hostess seemed annoyed as she was socializing with someone. She said it was a 15 minute wait although there were clearly many tables open so it’s not clear why there was a wait. She said rather curtly that we could sit at the bar. We sat at the bar so as not to wait and I then went to look at dining room, which clearly had many tables open and asked again if there was a 15 minute wait and she again seemed annoyed and said yes.So we ate at the bar.We ordered burgers ($17.00) and fries which came out quickly but I ordered mine with fruit but it came out with salad. I decided just to eat it.The staff did not seem overly busy so not sure why we were told twice it was a 15 minute wait (note the photos showing all the empty tables). A bit more customer service training for the hostess needed.
