Barnes Restaurant

Unfortunately I will not be eating here again.
This was my second time.
The first time I ordered the fried chicken special.
It was ok, pretty greasy and not a lot of flavor. I always give a restaurant two chances because I know they can off days.
But today...
The menu boasts smoked turkey, bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato on your choice of bread. It was deli meat! And not even sliced off of a turkey breast.
Literally land o'lakes turkey! On white bread.
I wasn't asked what kind of bread I wanted.
I am so disappointed I thought since Barnes advertises as being a BBQ place, that it would actually be chunks of smoked turkey breast.
For $12.45, I could've bought my own pre-sliced processed lunch meat and white bread and made the whole neighborhood sandwiches.
Yuck The onion rings were good.
And the staff is always friendly.

Changing my five star review in Mar to one star today.
Ordered crispy pork chops and they were far from it.
Just looking inside container they look fine but when picked up the crisp fell off.
Yeah I know fried pork chops are fried in oil but damn the entire bottom of container was full of it.
The underside of bottom chop was actually stuck to the container.
One more thing, I ordered a roll for both dinners and I got a soggy half piece of toast in mine.
Nobody wants to eat that.
So disappointed today. Mar ‘24 Really gotta work on that health department score.
Scary stuff! If I’d seen that before I ordered online I would’ve definitely ordered somewhere else.
Wanted a refund but decided to just take the food and avoid the hassle.
BUT the food was good.
Pork chops crispy just the way I like ‘em.
Out of mashed potatoes so they gave us a baked potato instead.
Pointed that out when arrived to pick up order which I appreciated very much.
Didn’t want baked potato and was able to pick a different side and lady left baked potato in plate too.
The sides were all tasty.
Really liked the split roll too.

Today's visit at Barnes was the first time I've eaten anything today.
It did not disappoint.
Everything was excellent.
I think that I ate too much, to be honest.
Very large portions.
The server was really nice and kept my drink glasses full.
I am looking forward to my next visit.
