Hawaiian restaurant, Barbecue restaurant
Restaurant pop-up in the wine bar The Bitter End (a little confusing to figure out what was going on as the service was a bit awkward).Small but varied menu of Hawaiian dishes. We got the PuPu platter with rice and Mac salad to get a taste of everything. Food was great but very salty.Fries were the highlight with a savory, spicy sauce.Fried chicken was okay.Looked like a lot of food came from the freezer, doesn't matter much when it's all fried anyway. Very nice vibe in the wine bar, sort of a hipster approach with vinyls all over the place.
Had Unco Frank's catered a couple times and each experience has been great. The food is well packaged and delivery service is great. The food is immaculate too, super delicious and easy for an entire group to split up.I particularly love the fried rice because I am a sucker for spam ha! Would recommend.
Mochiko Chicken - Pretty decent.Lightly fried chunks with a soft crispy batter.Glazed slightly sweet and savory.Different than how typically done in Hawaii.Mac salad was light on mayo and flavor, quite peppery, had carrots.Would've preferred soft white rice. The greens were nice.
