Toast! All Day

I used to go to Toast back in the early 2010s.
I remember the food being mind blowing and the experience always a highlight for my Sunday brunches.
My husband also used to dine at Toast.
Out of nostalgia, we came back in 2018 and the food was surprisingly lackluster.
We gave it another go this year (2024) and though it wasn't bad, it feels different now, as though the golden years of this restaurant is gone and it's starting to turn more into a Denny's.
The food was very sweet and thick with butter and fat and salt.
I know it's the south but we ate our way through Charleston and after the wide experiences, we just couldn't like it as much. I got the crab omelet with grits, very comforting but definitely heavy with the butter.
The omelet tasted very fishy, I took the shrimp out and made quick shrimp and grits and that made it good.
Their famous French Toast was extremely sweet, more like the sugar was trying to compensate for something but I'm not trying to act like I'm an expert or anything. The iced coffee tasted off to me, almost like some chemicals were in it. Overall, no longer my favorite place for breakfast in Charleston, but glad to give it a try while we were in town.

We got the Power Plate and Biscuit Gravy w Eggs.
I finally found a place that knows how to cook over medium eggs! Food was great.
Server did awesome.
Great homemade food.
Loved the music they were playing.
Prices were a little high personally for a breakfast dish.
For four adults and 1 child we spent $85 before tip.
The fruit bowl fruit could have been a little bit more fresh.
If you have children, they didn't have a changing station in the bathroom I used which would've been helpful.

Walked in and was immediately welcomed by everyone, and quickly sat at a table.
My server, Eliza was absolutely fantastic, and provided great service with a smile.
Answered any questions that we had and was very friendly and quick with everything! Thanks Eliza and Toast!
