We made a quick visit not too far from downtown Charleston and were on the lookout for a restaurant.
We’re so glad we found The Glass Onion! They are the true representation of Southern cuisine and indeed one of the best restaurants we’ve tried.
Every dish served to us was outstanding and did not disappoint! We’ve had plenty of fried green tomatoes with pimento from different restos, but theirs are hands down the best!!! We even bought some pimento to go so we could enjoy it at home.
The service was excellent too.
We’ll definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to our friends.

We discovered a local gem that turned out to be more than what we could have ever imagined.
We dined inside for a late lunch and this place did not disappoint.
I ordered the SC Buttermilk Fried Quail with street corn and cornbread.
My husband ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich with street corn.
Our food was mouth watering delicious.
The service was fast and very professional.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience here.
The only thing that was distasteful was the fact that they charged us for ketchup.
I never expected to be charged for a condiment.
Oh, the paper straws kept getting soggy.
We would definitely eat here again!!

Delicious Lowcountry food that has been featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.
The shrimp and grits were perfect.
I absolutely loved them.
The cornbread was decent too.
We went on a busy evening so we had to wait a while to be seated, but the waiter was very friendly and explained the menu well. Parking is tight so we had to park in another lot nearby and walk a bit.
The interior is pretty no-frills, but don’t let that deter you from coming to try the delicious food!
