Honestly this was the best fish and chips meal I have ever had.I’m not even someone who can finish a meal and my fish was gone. I will 100% be back and will bring friends here as well!
If you want mediocre food and to be called a bald faced liar by the owner twice within ten seconds (salt and pepper hair and glasses) then this is the place for you! I could write a book on his lack of people skills in dealing with the public this individual has, but I don't have enough space! We placed an order and when I went to the counter to pick it up, was told that it was ours, turns out that it wasn't. When the lady at the counter came by 10 minutes or so later to inform us of it, we told her not to worry, we would just keep the order that we had and save her the trouble of recooking it. As we were finishing up, the owner came and informed us that since we had opened the other container that came with the meal, we would have to pay for it! My response of "how are we supposed to know what it is if we don't open it?" fell on deaf ears and he demanded that we pay for the Scottish eggs that we didn't order. At this point, it was easier to pay the $10 than pursue the conversation. His response when I told him that we wouldn't be coming back was one word. "GOOD"! Save yourself the aggravation and eat at Jay's Lobster and Fish Market on the other side of the building. The food is much better and so was the service! I would have given them 0 stars, if that was an option !
Owner response
All lies.At the counter my bartender asked him "you're Edwardo?", he said "yes".He ordered 2 items yet he took 3 boxed items.Seconds later Edwardo arrived for his order.Realizing what happened we immediately started his order again. Two minutes later my bartender finds these two and says "hey, you guys got the wrong order", he replied "yes, we did, and thanks for the free scotch eggs", condescending to her.She walked away furious. When she returned, I could see by her face she was upset. You don't get to talk to my staff like that. So, I approached him and said "why did you say yes when we asked if you were Edwardo?" he replied "she didn't ask me".Then I knew I was wasting my time.We ask every guest when they return, and your name is on the ticket taped to the box.I told him we had to remake that family's entire order, he said "that's not my problem".Nice man. But, you can tell the type just by the interaction.Entitled, arrogant.I have it all on camera. When you make a mistake, just apologize, it's not that difficult.
Always my Garage go-to for beer and cocktails (best value in the hall), but I’ve probably eaten there more times than any other stall.Haggis puppies, shrimp, and fish & chips are awesome.
