We went for an early dinner (6pm) and the timing was perfect - still relatively quiet until about 6:30ish.EXCELLENT service (sorry, I can't remember my server's name) but he had the perfect combination of being attentive but also giving us space.Excellent suggestions for dinner including the option for us to get small portions of the sides (which means more variety - we ordered 3! Spinach, corn and the au gratin potatoes). My boyfriend ordered the filet mignon which was absolutely delicious, medium rare which I'm not a fan (it wasn't my order so who am i to judge?!) but i absolutely loved it! Excellent warmed up the next day in a skillet.I had the chicken which was fabulous. We loooved the bread basket pre-meal - make sure you are wearing stretchy pants for this restaurant.
We went to Capital Grille to celebrate New Year with dinner and it did not disappoint. Our server, Camilla, did an excellent job.She was very friendly and attentive. As soon as we sat down, we were served with a bowl of bread with butter on the side. For appetizers, we ordered Pan-fried Calamari with hot cherry pepper, which was perfectly cooked, soft, and very flavorful. We also ordered a cup of New England Clam Chowder, which was very delicious. It was not too thick or creamy, and the flavor was just perfect! For entrees, I ordered a sliced filet mignon with cipollini onions, wild mushrooms, and fig essence.I requested the steak to be cooked medium, and it was still very soft and juicy. The mushrooms and onions were my favorite part, and they completed my steak! My mom ordered a pan-seared seabass with shiitake mushrooms, asparagus, and Miso butter. The fish was so soft and juicy, and it was not fishy at all! The Miso butter made the fish taste even better! My dad ordered a Porcini-rubbed bone-in Rib Eye (22oz) which appeared to be burned, but our server explained that it was not burned but rubbed with charcoal. When my dad cut the steak, it was cooked to a medium-rare and was very tasty and juicy! For the table, we ordered mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach with garlic, both of which were very delicious. We finished our dinner with a flourless espresso cake, which was not overly sweet, so my mom and dad could also enjoy it. Overall, we had a great fine dining experience at Capital Grille. We highly recommend it if you are looking for a delicious meal in an upscale restaurant.
