Pleasant coffee/breakfast/lunch spot on the USF campus.I live nearby, but only visit occasionally since I'm usually headed downtown. If you're looking for a quiet spot to have coffee outside or inside, this is one of the best places south of downtown near the water. The atmosphere is less institutional than Kahwa in the student center, and less corporate than Starbucks in the Hilton. The outside seating is relaxing, unlike the coffee shop at the USF bookstore, which has only a few uncomfortable metal tables with attached chairs along busy 5th Ave S. How is the coffee? I can only comment on the regular latte, which is very good. They also offer the obligatory sugary drinks masquerading as coffee that many Americans prefer. Speaking of sugar, one quibble: The multigrain bread is sweet (as is often the case).I'd recommend choosing something else if you enjoy a savory sandwich such as the bacon, egg, spinach and tomato (BEST). Occasionally there can be issues with smoke outside. For dinner check out The Tavern next door.It has live music, and the grouper is great.

Hey Clinton, thanks for the review! So glad you found us and enjoy our atmosphere.Great choice with the B.E.S.T.sandwich and the latte (maybe one day you'll be up to trying one of those fun beverages you referenced, hehe.) Hope to see you again soon! :-)

You're so sweet- thanks for coming in!
We like the fact that the pastries in this little shop are nut-free and have no cross-contamination worries. They deserve 5 stars just for that! But, the pastries are cloyingly sweet.Had to throw away the coffee cake. And, they are expensive as is their coffee and coffee drinks.Hard to understand, being on a college campus with “impoverished” college kids (🙂), why it costs more than say, Kahwa or, Starbucks…?!

Hello! Thanks for the review! Knocked off 2 stars for a pastry that's...sweet? That's how they should be, if I'm not mistaken (hehe) ;-) Also, most if not all of our coffee and pastries cost less than Starbucks, and are made in house rather than thawed from frozen like most chains.Hope you stop in again soon! :-)
