I recently visited Nueva Cantina Restaurant and I must say the food doesn't resemble authentic Mexican cuisine in taste.
While the restaurant looks great and has a charming atmosphere, the flavors of the dishes lack the genuine essence of traditional Mexican food. --- Feel free to adjust it as needed!

It took a few visits to write this review.
To start, the food is GREAT,hence continuing to return after some...interesting service.
Went on a Saturday afternoon and the place seemed decently busy and like two people were doing everything.
While our order took a bit to be taken/put in, once in food came out quickly and good and server gave all around good service.
Returned later in the evening for a friends birthday dinner.
Server didn't seem to have knowledge of the menu or inventory (tequila brands displayed and that they DID in fact have tecatè which we saw on another guests table/stacked by the bar).
She said she only worked one night a week which, if the case...maybe a Saturday isn't the best choice? Food and atmosphere has kept us coming back.
Might be the best Mexican in St Pete just never know what to expect in regards to service.

It was food was not bad actually pretty good on my dish but my daughters was so so.
I had the Pescado Mexicano and she had chicken tostados.
The building is in disrepair.

You will see multiple holes and a thermostat hanging on by the cable from the looks of it.
They could use a decent maintenance man.
The service was great.
The chips didn’t taste homemade.
