As a Brooklyn Native , I was not to impressed.Gentrification is so boldly not respecting the true value in maintaining the integrity of the hispanic culture of the community it supposedly servicing.Outside of the Brooklyn print graffiti on its wall, the place is other than that!!!! No thank you gentrification… it would be nice to see some form of art that represents the community it so call serves. However, there is a nice print of a tree that represents the name of the establishment. The place is super tiny, making it difficult to order or even to take a look at the full menu as the patrons are standing over each other to order and hawk watching for a seat is the sport in this establishment. After 40 plus minutes of waiting our food arrived.I ordered the full breakfast, in which my home fries were cold .The chicken schnitzel and waffles and the grill cheese with tomato bisque were a hit and in this aspect I was pleasantly surprised.Being that the establishment is super tiny, politely placing a seating time limit would be beneficial. Many people walked in and turned right around to avoid the wait time. There was also a table of four whom finished their meal, yet sat with no regard of the other customers patiently waiting. This new wave of disrespect moving into the neighborhood is questionable.Smh

Hi Olgita, glad you enjoyed the food.I just wanted to clarify some things that you seem to have misinterpreted during your visit with us.I'm actually a third generation Williamsburg native with Dominican roots. You were dining in what was at one point my childhood home, and were served by me personally. As for our art both inside and on the side of the building we contracted Brooklyn native Jaime Hef.The tables and bar stools you sat on were hand made by a Brooklyn native. The Brooklyn Tree name itself come from the book A Tree Grows in Brooklyn written by a Williamsburg native who like myself loved her neighborhood. We serve homemade food made with quality ingredients that I always wished was around when I grew up here.We constantly do things to help and better my neighborhood. You say you support the Hispanic/Brooklyn/ Williamsburg community but chose one of the only restaurants in Williamsburg owned by a native Brooklyn Hispanic to leave this comment on.As a community we need to do better in supporting each other.
Delicious pulled pork sandwich and the tomato cream was to die for.Great customer service, the server was super nice.We became friends! It can get busy, since is a small restaurant but its worth the wait.
One of my favorite spots for any meal of the day.The food is great and the staff is super friendly.Highly reccomend The Brooklyn Tree!!
