West African restaurant, Caterer
Nothing like great food and a nice atmosphere! We were greeted and sat immediately upon arrival. We had some beef Somosa which we finished before I could take a pic, so good! The owner was sweet enough to let me try a sample of the egusi soup since I was unsure if I wanted it but I went with the jollof rice with the beef.My husband got the spicy coconut rice and the beef, both were delicious! We had the puffs for dessert and I could only eat one because I was so full. Can’t wait to go back again, still need to try the fufu!
Owner response
We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your visit! Your kind words about our food and atmosphere are much appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you back soon for the fufu.Sincerely, Teetasty Foods.
Authenticity at it's finest.Real crayfish used.Cow skin.Goat skin.Tripe.Goat meat, etc. The owner is nice and personable.Customer service is great.A little slow. I wish that the food was spicier and that they served pepper sauce with the puff puff, meat pies and samosas. I loved the Amala and Abula.Such a Yoruba delicacy. The best jollof rice that I have ever had at a restaurant. Chicken legs is fresh. But the samosas are fried too hard.Puff puff too oily and should be asked if wanted sprinkled with powder sugar.Because I'm used to eating it as savory with kala/ pepper sauce not as a dessert. I also asked for pepper to go but was given tomato. Some of us Americans know Nigerian cuisine.Don't play us. Need more drink selections such as juices Overall will come again.Thank you for using authentic Nigerian spices such as crayfish. I love that they let you get half half soups. My sister got half okra and half egusi because she couldn't make up her mind. I also love the bowls she serves food out of and the takeaway bowls. She gives plenty of food for sharing portions.
We were so excited to try this place and planned to have our Valentine’s Day dinner here! We were very sorely disappointed and came out with stomach aches 😭 We got the Suya beef plate and the Egusi Let’s start with the suya beef - cold, dry, overcooked and very spicy beef but the Jolof and plantains were good Egusi - It was definitely different! The owners are so kind and I feel bad leaving a bad review but I have to be honest
Owner response
I am extremely sorry that your dining experience didn't match your expectations. I did notify you that the beef Suya was spicy before serving and you had mentioned you like spicy food.We also serve our beef Suya as "Well done" However, to say our cultural food Egusi is gross and foul is a little insulting to our culture as Africans, we understand trying a new meal appease to individuals differently and we can offer substitutions when a meal doesn't agree to a customers taste buds.I repeatedly asked you if you were satisfied with the food and service and you didn't raise any concerns, I also cleared up after you and all your plates were completely empty including the Egusi soup. I had no idea your dining experience felt this way and we could have done everything possible to make it better for you. We're normally known for our exceptional food quality, and we regret we missed the mark. We appreciate your honesty and we hope you will give us another chance to serve you better. Sincerely, Teetasty Foods ***UPDATE- Thank you for taking down your comment on our Egusi and also reviewing the ratings, we appreciate the consideration and we still hope you can give us another chance and enjoy a great dining experience.
