Southside Diner

Well this is the first review I have ever given a 5 star and the food and service was not good. We ordered steak and eggs and was waiting for over forty minutes when the manager came over to apologize.
He said they called in extra help because it so busy and was super transparent and sincere. Once we got our food he checked up with us again and noticed the steaks were over cooked and we didn't touch much of the other items. He immediately said breakfast was on the house and apologized once again. Great customer service and commitment to a quality experience.

When traveling in new areas, always look for the diners when you get hungry, they usually don't disappoint and this place was spot on in every category.
You know the food is good when the child in the party devours his cheeseburger before the adults are even halfway through their meals.
My partner had the veggie gyro with a fruit cup instead of fries.
She said it was really good.
It was messy so it must have been good, because the messier the better.
I had the patty melt (with gravy)and fries.
The gravy must be a regional thing because I've never had it before.
My melt was excellent, crunchy and gooey cheese with just the right amount of sauteed onions.
The fries were nice and crispy.
The child ordered the brownie sundae and for once the dessert got the best of him because it was so huge! I would definitely eat here again just so I could sample more of their menu.

This diner is a true gem.
We had biked the Kokosing Gap Trail with extensions for a total 54 miles roundtrip and wanted to get a bite before heading home.
The atmosphere was fun with all the interesting objects on the walls.
Our waitress was stellar! She had wonderful suggestions, a terrific personality, and was accurate and efficient with our ordering and service.
The food was delicious!! We were extremely hungry so it was difficult to not gobble it down, but it deserved time to savor.
Make sure to get a slice of their cheesecake (we chose the carmel!) or pick up some chocolate from the counter displays. YouTube @travlinfam
