Together with Eze The Glocalizer (@eze_theglocalizer) I went to visit Shô Kut to try out their menu for Black Love of Food (@blackloveoffood)! A concept with Cameroonian street food.
Something you don’t see everyday so we had to try it out! As a Cameroonian, this lifted Eze’s spirits extra of course.
What a find again and the owner Booba is passionate and very kind.
There’s a little library to find and games like Afriquiz, so next to satisfying the belly, your brain gets its fix too! What did we taste? Drinks: Bissap (hibiscus blend) Cameroonian Ginger Drink — very fresh and surprisingly not too sweet! Homemade beverages are the best and Shô Kut proved it once again. Appetizers: Bofrot / Beignets — Bofrot (or beignets in French) is a sweet treat.
A dough ball which gets fried.
It also goes by the name of puff-puff or donut.
These were so fluffy on the inside, still nice and warm and he served it with a ginger caramel sauce.
Bruh, soooo good. Mains: Kamer Végébowl (A Cameroonian bowl with yellow rice base, sautéed veggies, chick pea dumplings and a sauce I can’t name but am still dreaming of. The Mentil Burger (A high quality beef burger with flattened plantain at the top and bottom to replace traditional buns) — The bowl was a flavour explosion and the portion is nice and rich.
I ended up eating all of it together but in the beginning I was searching for what to eat and try first with all the amazing scents coming from my bowl.
The plantain burger— what a surprise! The plantain goes really well with the beef and all the other traditional ingredients of a burger.
I love how (West-) Africans manage to combine plantain so well with lots of things.
Definitely a unique try out, don’t miss it! Desserts: Mango- and Speculoos Tiramisu — fluffy, sweet and it left us speechless while enjoying it! Shô Kut is a hidden gem that you really shouldn’t miss while walking the streets of Paris.
Booba welcomed us warmly and we know we have a little piece of home in this wonderful place.
Go find it and make it yours too! 🥰 You can find the full video on our page @blackloveoffood✨

Quel plaisir de vous savoir satisfaite de notre concept, et votre avis alors belle plume.
À bientôt

Hours on Google Maps said they open so I walked a ways to get here.
But they were closed at 8pm when I arrived.

Dsl de la gêne occasionnée nous avons eu un soucis avec notre mise en jour, car nous avons fermé pendant 5 jours.

It's been months I haven't discovered such warm welcoming, cheap and tasty street restaurant in Paris! A must go!

Milles merci à vous Romain d’être passé.
À bientôt
