Asian fusion restaurant, Sandwich shop, Vietnamese restaurant
Good little place in the middle of a neighborhood. It only opened yesterday and there is a lunch rush.If you've been to the one on Mack road it will have a similar menu.I've yet to try anything yet as I'll eat it when I go home. The place is clean and served hot chinese food with Vietnamese sandwiches. On the right side of one register is earned dim sum and spring wraps. You can find some cold drinks in the fridge.
My first time at this supermarket to try their hot food section and I was very disappointed.I bought 4 items to try. First item is the VN chicken sandwich.Mind you the place states "Vietnamese" sandwich so my expectation is pate and butter spread.Nope, I saw creamy white spread! You guessed it..mayo.yuck! The cha (chicken bologna) wasn't ground into a smooth consistency either.Bread was not toasted, meat was cold from the fridge and lacked more sprigs of cilantro. If you want to eat a cold American sandwich then be my guess. For $3.95, you are better off heading to Stockton Blvd for an authentic Vietnamese sandwich. Second item I tried, egg custard buns. The package contains 5.There's more dough than filling and the filling has no egg flavor which tells you they added fillers to dilute the eggs.So basically you're tasting flour and granulated sugar. Third item was the spring rolls. They only have the steam shrimp kind and was in the process of rolling the BBQ pork and steam shrimp rolls. When I inquired if they offer the traditional steam lean pork meat, the lady said yes but there's nothing available for purchase at 10am.The rolls were not tightly bound so when you dip into the sauce, the rice noodles drop into the sauce container. Also the sauce had no chopped peanuts. Fourth item I tried was the steam chicken veggie bao. There's 2 in the package and looks to be a decent size.Again very very doughy. The filling on this was good but you'll have to bite almost halfway to reach the filling.Hopefully they will make adjustments to add more fillings in the future. I didn't try their rice combo plates with BBQ pork or roast duck so that maybe their specialities than Vietnamese sandwiches.
Do not eat the fried cheese wontons. They are disgusting old greasy hard as rock garbage at the sandwich food store inside this pricy grocery store. They are serving old food there and should be ashamed of themselves. They are likely losing a lot of money at this sandwich shop being open with no customers. The grocery store was quite empty the whole time.
