I visited the Taste of Original many times after they opened for business less than a year ago.The food is so good! As their name says, “Taste of Original”.Many of their dishes are from the traditional Chinese culture. They have those fishes available and have the original delicious tastes. The service we received tonight is excellent as it always is.I like their modern dining room design with the white tables. It gave me a very clean feeling.Once again! I enjoyed my dinner tonight!
I’m going to start with, “SacTown‼️ We need to support this Restaurant”. If you’re looking for some Hong Kong style comfort food. This is your spot. The dishes are simple and delicious. We ordered, the garlic string beans, scallop egg white fried rice, beef brisket and tendon noodle soup, wonton noodle soup and some take out (which I’ll try to review later). The food comes out hot (not spicy) because you can hear them cooking with the wok in the back and the wok hei is 🔥🔥🔥. The ingredients were fresh, the spring beans had a crispness to them, and the garlic was so flavorful. The rice had just the right bounciness in its texture. The wonton actually had shrimp in it (c’mon Sac, we need better wonton mein and this is a step in the right direction). The brisket was tender and the tendon was soft and flavorful. This place is great. It’s not perfect, and it’s not as good as the specialty restaurants in Hong Kong that focus on one dish, but it’s nice to have legit Chinese comfort food. This isn’t chop suey, it’s not cheap, but I think the quality matches the price. So yeah, SacTown, you need to try this place and I think you’ll find that it’s worth supporting. *no affiliation or monetary compensation for this.
Love this place.Ordered the Crisp Grass Carp Fish Congee which is a thick rice porridge with generous pieces of fish with thin slices of ginger.Really warms the tummy on a cold day and it was cold and rainy outside. Also ordered the Beef Tendon & Brisket Chee Hou Sauce Clay Pot which consisted of thick pieces of stewed brisket with tendon. Finally ordered the Fujian Pan-Fried Rice Noodle. It had pieces of shrimp stir fried with noodle covered with a crispy fried layer of the same noodle. It was delicious. The portion sizes here are extremely generous. After finishing the rice porridge, we couldn't finish the remaining brisket and noodle so we took it home.Would definitely come back again.
