Either you love cafeteria food or you don't, and if it's the latter, don't bother eating here thinking it will be anything other than classic old-school cafeteria food. As someone who loves all things vintage and also someone who grew up eating cafeteria food with my family, I was immediately drawn to S&S while staying nearby.
Food was good, and exactly what I expected.
If you order the value platter it's a great deal, especially for kids, but if you order a la carte it can add up.
In addition to the regular items, they have daily specials.
Line service was a bit on the slower side, but our table server, Tess, was super sweet and attentive.
Our family had an early dinner at 5pm on a Monday so it was really quiet - not sure if this is how it always is. Cafeterias like this are a dying breed, so I love to eat at them whenever I can find one.
In terms of a retro dining experience, it did not disappoint.

I ordered roast beef and asked for horseradish to go with it.
I was told the waitress would bring it to me.
I sat down asked for some and was told they were out of it.
I would have ordered something else.
Need to communicate to line servers so they can relay correct information.
My meat, biscuit and mash potatoes were cold.
Good flavor on the food but I like hot food.

Greenbeans tasted like they had a cleaner in them.
Definitely not the southern greenbeans we were used to.
The liver was super salty and the cost was pretty high for two of us.
