Amazing Service, Great Coffee but the food could be better. I ordered the cheesy Shrimp & Grits and they were extremely salty! (I did not add salt at the table) Not edible at all, however the server offered to give me another meal, or have the dish remade which is very much appreciated, it shows they care about customer satisfaction. Husband had the Meat Lovers omelette which he enjoyed. They do slap a slice of sandwich cheese on-top of the omelette rather than shredded cheese, I have never seen that before at a restaurant/diner but husband said it tasted fine.
Four friends and I met yesterday morning for a long overdue get together. We decided to try Pop's this time and were very happy with our choice. The place was bright and cheerful, and our server Ashanti was attentive and helpful. Although Pop's was somewhat busy, we only had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated. And they also were really fast at preparing and serving our orders; I'd say Ashanti and the young lady helping her were back with our food within about 15 minutes. For mine, I chose the yummy Piglet Omelette because I'd never seen its ingredient combination offered anywhere else before -- a filling of kielbasa, ham, sausage and cheddar cheese with a topping of bacon jam. Then I picked their signature home fries (soft, fried potatoes with what tasted like sweet onions) as my side (the other choices being grits or fruit), and a biscuit for the "toast" option (I believe they also offer English muffins and bagels for this part of the combo, which is also unusual). Speaking of my biscuit, they did something else differently with it. They halved and buttered it before toasting the halves. I never would've thought to do that myself, but then again, the biscuit was larger than what I typically make at home (see the halves on the side plate?) For my meal and coffee, I spent a little over $22 before tip. While that might seem expensive for breakfast, the deliciousness of the food and the wonderful service made the cost worth it to me. Plus, I was full after eating only half of each item in my combo, so I brought the rest home to let my husband try it all too.The only disappointing thing about Pop's from my POV is that they don't have a location in any of the cities or towns along 460 so they'd be closer to me. (Hint, hint, Pops!)
Really great place for breakfast and lunch.Food was very good, service was great--the servers and waitress were so nice.Loved everything.
