Chinese restaurant, Korean restaurant, Restaurant
This place has a 90s, old school Chinese restaurant feel that I really like.Yangjangpi and jjajangmyeon were our favorites of the four we ordered. We were especially satisfied with jjajangmyeon because even in Korea it's difficult to find good one these days. Many restaurants are skipping steps and most times it taste too sweet, flavorless, or watery. One we ate today at Peking Mandarin was definitely above average. Seafood jjamppong on the other hand was not authentic and I think I would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't called jjamppong because it still had some nice but different spice, flavors to it.But seafood was very fresh with a firm texture. Service was superb and the main server was really cool. She seems to really bond well with all her customers. We will visit again to recharge our jjajangmyeon craving and try something new.
The food here was amazing and am so glad that I was able to find this jewel not far from Chicago city.I had jjajjangmyun (black bean noodle), jjamppong(seafood noodle), and tangsooyuk(sweet fried port). They were all great with lots of portion.Price is so good and I could not finish all.(I wish I had more room!)
Champon (menu says "chow ma mein") This is what you get here. That's the exceptional dish. jja-jang-myun is ok. sweet and sour pork - good, but more bready than it should be. spiced fried chicken wings (kan-poong-kee) - skip it.very heavy on the gochujang. servers will try to teach you Spanish lol.A bit odd, but quite friendly. Cash only! Or Zelle. In 2023.Well then!
