This place is amazing! It is heads above your neighborhood burrito place, but just a step down from fine dining.
First off, it is always busy.
Always.
Don’t expect really fast service, but they are all very friendly! Secondly, and most important, you must order the tortilla soup.
It is a meal size soup bowl.
In fact, I took half of it home! It is huge.
It is famous throughout the city, and even written up in the Chicago Tribune.
It is the best tortilla soup I’ve ever had in my life, and I travel to Mexico frequently! Anyhow, don’t miss the soup.

Garcias is a wonderful place to experience clean, authentic Mexican food on the north side.
The service here is top notch and the staff is always really friendly.
The place is huge and gets packed on week nights and on the weekends. There is something on the menu for everybody whether you visit for lunch or dinner.
I love their caldo de pollo, it’s perfect for a rainy or cold day.
It’s filled with a rich broth, all the veggies you could want.
You can request white or dark meat in your bowl, I like to have both.
Oh and it’s HUGE.
Burrito - get the Chicago best trust me! The tortas are fantastic, tacos are on point and they have a langostinos pasta I could eat three times a day.
If your not driving, try their best in Chicago margaritas- I recommend the mezcal margarita 😍

Placed and order online for pickup and requested no onion or tomatoes because of allergy.
I got home and my torta has a handful of tomatoes and onions.
Tried calling the restaurant to fix it but they declined
