French restaurant, Restaurant
This Upper East Side place is one of my go-to spots for grubbing. • I'm a big fan of the old-school vibe they've got going on in there. • The staff is always courteous and can pretty much always find me a table, even during the busier hours. • The food is fantastic and consistently on point. • My move is to swing by right before the dinner rush so I can chow down in a relatively chill, quiet atmosphere without having to deal with too many people. It's the perfect little setup.
Est.2000 Layout/atmosphere *French bistro; bar to left of entrance, the rest tables in one main dining area; upstairs a smaller dining room; enclosed outdoor dining structure in street Service *Good; waiters in black vests with “Orsay” in red on back Food/drink *French Onion Soup - good; did not get served too hot/scalding *Lunch Steak Frite (8 oz Sirloin steak, hand cut French fries, Bearnaise sauce) - OK; meat had generic flavor profile (little on the salty side), not a fan of the sauce; fries were crispy *Complimentary slice of bread with butter
The service was excellent; however, I was not particularly impressed by the food or portion sizes, especially considering the high prices. The restaurant deserves five stars for its service, but when charging premium prices, as a customer, I expect something spectacular.I don't want to be overly harsh in my review, so I'm giving four stars. However, I don't think I would visit here again or recommend it to my friends.
