Chinese restaurant
First time returning after the pandemic, we ordered the usual dishes. All dishes ordered were still very good; the roast duck with thin crispy skin, very little fat is the best in Chinatown. The veggie and steamed fish were fresh and cooked just right. The waiter was friendly. We'll definitely return.
Not a good cantonese restaurant.I stayed at a hotel nearby, and walking to canal street is too far.So I searched on google and found this one.The review is 4.2 stars which isn't that bad.So I walked there at 7pm.Surprisingly, I found myself to be the only dine in customer. That should raised a red flag but I don't want to go out to search for another restaurant. The food was mediocre at best.I have been to a lot of cantonese restaurants all over US and Canada, and this one is certainly among the bottom ones.No wonder no other dine in customers! The price is cheap but you get what you paid for.Left the restaurant unsatisfied. Will never go back again!
Somewhere between 2.5 and 3 stars, if only for the fact that their lunch menu displayed their prices somewhat confusingly.I ordered a 1/2 roast duck which I thought was around $14 and ended up paying $24 since the "platter" was $14 (this mixup involved the way the menu line item read - long story).I am not sure if I am annoyed more at my own mistake, if that's what it truly was.I mean, who wouldn't jump at a 1/2 roast duck for $14? I didn't make a big deal about it considering the generous portion and nice orange wedge dessert that I was brought afterwards.I completely forgot that I had brought in a soda can and they didn't bother me about it. The food in and of itself is not bad
