One of the best Dim Sum in Houston. The restaurant is clean and food is great! The restaurant can be very busy on weekends there is a waiting line so be aware once you get a table you won't be disappointed
Tucked away on Bellaire Blvd., Ocean Palace isn't just a restaurant, it's a family tradition.Stepping through those doors is like stepping back into countless dim sum lunches past, each one woven with laughter, chatter, and the irresistible scent of steaming baskets.Last week, that familiar magic worked its charm again as we unwrapped our takeout feast. No fancy dishes, just the classics that never miss: Siumai, plump and juicy, their delicate folds holding a savory surprise in every bite. The Steamed Tofu Pork Roll, a symphony of textures - the soft tofu yielding to the springy pork, all bathed in the rich embrace of oyster sauce. And of course, the Sesame Balls, crispy shells bursting with sweet, nutty goodness. Highly recommend but either do come early if dining in to ensure getting a table or order by phone if planning for a take-out.
We ordered 7 dim sum dishes and found the quality was worth a 3-star rating. The turnip cake tasted staled as we noticed the Chinese ham/salted meat were fresh. The tofu skin roll was possibly prepared the night before and over steamed, the skin fell apart and the fillings didn't taste fresh. Their shrimp dumplings and beef tripe stew were excellent. Chicken feet was flavorful, could use a little more steam time. Service was good.
