Sushi restaurant, Asian restaurant, Japanese restaurant, Restaurant, Southeast Asian restaurant
I’ve ordered twice from here.First time I tried the stir fry, that was great.Lots of chicken and veggies were cooked perfect, usually the broccoli is overcooked in stir fry - not the case here. Today I ordered some sushi.Nigiri was very good.Nice cut of salmon, not too lean and good amount of fat.One thing that always kills it for me is when there is too much rice with nigiri, amount of rice was spot on. Only complaints - I ordered a miso soup. For $4, I would expect a little more soup. - The maki roles are a little basic.I’m not huge on anything fried or seared and look for rolls with fresh fish, not covered in sauces. Not a ton of options there.
The food was great.I had Thet’s Noodles and really enjoyed them, the mushrooms were very flavorful.I thought this would be a full meal but I was still hungry even after sharing The Vegan sushi roll with my partner.I wish I would have added tofu to the noodles to make it a legitimate meal.We were one of a few diners in the restaurant so we couldn’t really access the vibe.I liked their menu marketing but the inside of the restaurant didn’t match the playfulness of nomzilla, the dinosaur.
If I’m being honest, this is one of my favorite restaurants in East.It might not be a fine dining restaurant, or somewhere with staple items, but it delivers in all categories with high marks. To start, I believe the servers name was Danielle? I’m not sure.Every time I’m in there, she greets me with a smile, and shares her great knowledge of the menu all while being timely with service! Props to her! If you want a full meal for a great price, the Shinguru is an amazing choice. Not pictured is the miso soup (which is NOT the poorly executed version prepared at other restaurants), a salad, and then a random creation of whatever the chef has in mind for your roll. The roll is large, imagine 2 rolls put together with crispy toppings, as seen on mine.To wrap up my analysis of the food, the are extremely considerate of allergies.I asked and the informed me that they use no nuts in the entire restaurant (which I appreciate). The atmosphere is underrated.Usually there is a mix of some house or edm remixes that fit the lively vibe.If you’re looking for a quick meal in a great environment, I would recommend Nomzilla!
