Traditional American restaurant
Cool local pub with a great menu and beer selection.Portions were large, menu items were unique, and our server was excellent. The fried pickle chips are so good, the tater tots are a must, and for dessert the s'more sundae is a definite (to share!) Free refills on soda and a typical local bar atmosphere with dark lighting and monitors on the walls.Very good experience.
Well, we stopped in for Easter brunch before we had our family dinner in the evening. It was relatively busy when we walked in but cleared out long before our food arrived.Maybe it was the Easter rush but without question, food was sub par. When the food finally arrived (25 minutes after the rush had left), our food was barely warm and tasted like it sat in the window for the full 25 minutes.I can’t give a recommendation based off of today’s meal.I had no interest in finishing the plate. It seems like this may possibly be a great restaurant any other day than a holiday. We may choose to give another try based solely on the managers response. She was quick to respond and very professional with her response. It kept our day from smelling like rotten eggs… 🙌🏼
I want to give this place a higher rating but I have tried it 3 different times now and i just can’t get there.I will start off by saying I don’t drink alcohol at all anymore, but when I used to that it was a lot better of a place to me.This review is based solely off of food and service. The same lady has waited on us every time. She does an ok job but always seems to be in the weeds. She gets everything you need but always running around, flustered or takes a lil while to get things. The first time we visited we got their version of the bang bang shrimp and Greek pizza and I loved both of those.Since then I haven’t had anything that I liked. This past visit I had the seafood sampler and it was super greasy, way over breaded shrimp, crab cake was ok but made of all backfin meat and filler (no lump) so if you care about that then choose something else. Also had a mushroom sticking out of the back of the crab cake.I think maybe it was cooked on the same flattop as sautéed mushrooms.Flounder was a really nice size but had a strange taste.Husband had a huge burger that was on sourdough bread and it was also super oily.Like I said, I really want to like this place. The atmosphere is nice, good for mixed drinks or bar, the owners are very nice and often there.I think if I go back I will stick to their pizzas.🤙
