$$ Creole restaurant
About
Discover New Orleans Creole Cafe, a charming Creole restaurant tucked away on San Diego Avenue. With a warm, cozy atmosphere, it offers a delightful escape for lunch or dinner. Diners rave about the authentic dishes, like the French Onion Soup and Dark Jambalaya, perfectly complemented by Louisiana beers. While service may be a bit slow on busy nights, the friendly staff makes up for it. Accessible and perfect for solo diners or intimate groups, this cafe is a true taste of New Orleans in California.
Stumbled upon this cozy spot while waiting for a tour and absolutely loved it! The French Onion Soup was the standout for me, perfectly warm for December nights. The gumbo and crawfish etouffee were equally delightful. Don't miss this hidden treasure when in the area!

Hidden away behind the historic Whaley House, New Orleans Creole Cafe is a cozy gem that truly delivers on Creole flavors!
I visited with a small group and was impressed by the fast service, despite just one friendly staff member managing the kitchen and dining. We savored the French Onion Soup, Dark Roux Gumbo, and the standout Dark Jambalaya - all seasoned just right. 🌶️
Don’t skip the warm Bread Pudding for dessert! 🍰 The ambiance is perfect for a romantic evening or a quiet lunch, making this a must-visit spot in San Diego. I’ll be back for more!
