Italian restaurant, Caterer, Lunch restaurant
The foods are Sicilian style, which is the largest Mediterranean island and also in Italy.Sophia, who is the owner of the restaurant and is from Sicily, is very kind and sweet. The texture of the noodles were different but better than the common/usual pasta noodles I can find from grocery stores. The foods have slightly added flavor which deepens the taste in addition to the main flavor that people can expect from the visual presentation of the food. For example, the lightly added anchovy powder into the salad provides rich flavors, which made it different from the other simple salad. It was a little salty for me, but I believe the authentic Italian pasta is even saltier, so I guess the foods here seem keeping the authenticity of the original flavor.Lastly, this place is where I would go with my family and friends, cause I want to see people whom I love enjoying the experience from the restaurant! Thanks for reading the review :)
Owner response
Thank you Peter - much appreciated. We do use fresh anchovies in our salads, not powder, but thank you anyway, we do appreciate it. Food shouldn't be too salty, that's not really Italian per say. Thanks for bringing your friends and family in. Hope to see you in again soon...
The food was mediocre at best, although the ravioli was a rip-off with only 5 poorly cooked pieces at $26.We called earlier to say we're celebrating a birthday and the moment we entered bearing a birthday cake, the staff stopped us in our tracks and pointed out that they charge a per person cake fee of $3.50, which I've never encountered in other restaurants before. There's also an additional 20% tariff for large groups. We were a party of seven. We had a group voucher which should have been applied to the total Before taxes, but the staff forgot, and didn't bother to redo the math and applied it after, driving up the costs. Pointing out the hidden costs here, and coupled with the very mediocre fare, you might want to think twice about visiting this place, especially for special occasions when you don't want it ruining your night. There are places which give you a better run for your money and time.
Delicious food, charming space, and great neighbourhood.Love all the pastas I’ve tried here, have been multiple times and the lasagna, mushroom ravioli, and all the seafood options have all been amazing. The bread served at the table always feels warm and fresh, and the ambiance of the space is always cozy and romantic. It’s a family run restaurant, and you can really tell with how well the staff knows the menu. The neighbourhood is super quaint, and there has always been seating available for late-evening dining.Lots of parking on the street in front and they have a cute patio for summer dining! The one miss for me was the tiramisu — the coffee flavour wasn’t pronounced and lady fingers were soggy.Otherwise all the food has been great.Looking forward for being back!
