Mollica's Italian Market and Deli

Been coming here for over 20 years and this place will never disappoint.
From the lasagna to the salads to the Italian sandwiches all portions are hearty and prices are amazing.
I absolutely love the Tiramisu and Italian sodas.
Service is always fast and friendly no matter how busy they are.

This was the closest tasting pizza to Napoli pizza we've tried.
Neapolitans make the best pizza in the world! The sauce, sausage, seasoning of the crust, mozzarella, and all that basil! You don't need paninis, the sandwich we ate was really good! Great service and very friendly crew!! Thanks for having us!! Grazie mille!!

This place is really solid.
They have a large menu, and everything I have tried is pretty decent.
While not in the top tier of restaurants, it is right below them and is a legitimate choice if you are looking for good food. For a deli, this place has really good pizza.
Out of everything I have tried, I liked the house made sausage as the best pizza topping.
It has a more mellow flavor; I have tried house made sausages before where they put a bunch of spices in and the sausage has a very strong flavor.
Mollica's does it right.
The cheese is really good (which it should be as this place is a deli) and almost has a buttery flavor to it.
The pizza crust is on the thinner side of medium.
I enjoy the crust as it is always slightly crunchy but still fluffy.
I think they put herbs in the dough too to give it extra flavor.
Also, it is the only place I know of in Colorado Springs other than a gas station where you can get pizza at 9am. The southwest chicken tortilla soup was almost like red chili.
I thought it was really good..light spiciness and very chunky.
The minestrone soup is all vegetables, also very chunky with no spiciness.
It wasn't bad but I didn't like it as much compared to the southwest chicken soup.
The smoky butternut squash soup is also pretty good.
I am not 100% sure but I think they put small pieces of bacon in it. The meat penne is my favorite pasta entree, although you can't go wrong with any of them.
The 4 cheese ravioli cheese is super creamy.
The lasagna is good, but I would pick the pizza over it any day (had a coworker tell me the lasagna was the best thing on the menu.

The bread that comes with these entrees is ok; in my opinion nothing special.
It's a little tough on the outside although with the butter they give you it tastes pretty decent. For the grilled cheese sandwich, the slices of bread they use are huge and the side that comes with it is pretty good too.
Overall, it is not bad especially for the price.
I would say most restaurants I have tried grilled cheese sandwiches at are rip-offs because you are paying $8-10 for essentially a kid's snack, but Mollica's hooks you up. If you are looking for dessert, I would go with the tiramisu or strawberry cheesecake.
The cannoli is pretty good too, but I have yet to find a cannoli that stands out.
Mollica's sells a pretty generic cannoli, but I think their tiramisu and strawberry cheesecake are above average in comparison to other restaurants.
