Looking for a quick and local food adventure? You’re in luck, because I highly encourage you to give this restaurant/grocery/bakery a try.Whether you buy a sourdough baked good, some sourdough starter, one of their various artisanal breakfast and lunch offerings, or even a wood fired sourdough pizza; You will experience a pleasure that only comes from eating delicious, wholesome, and nutritious food.We all love it when a business truly cares about its customers, and that’s exactly what Modern Stone Age Kitchen delivers. To prove my point, I have an important question to ask: Can you name many restaurants that take the care to plan and prepare for hours - sometimes days - so that they can expertly craft and serve dozens of your favorite foods at fair prices - from scratch - using only ingredients that improve human vitality and longevity because they want the best for you? I bet not. This is why you owe it to yourself to hop in the car and visit this one of a kind.If you happen see a line out the door, do not be discouraged, step out of your instant gratification bubble and trust that you will be rewarded. In fact, my wife and I stopped here on a random Saturday and ended up eating breakfast AND lunch, which we enjoyed so much. You are welcome!

The Schindler Family P.S.I remember her pretty blue dress and even said - you're back for lunch!
Came here on a whim to get some lunch! The area is incredibly cute, and has so much wonderful atmosphere. Food was okay if I am honest.I appreciate their dedication to clean food, honest ingredients, and just clarity of “what goes into it”.However, I will say knowing it’s more expensive for honest ingredients, 15.50 for a panini that’s not even very thick in the sense of protein dense, does seem a bit steep. It did taste good, nothing superb or out of this world. Was a bit disappointed with service at the front however.I totally understand everyone can have a bad day, but also a bit more (ready to help, happy to help) mentality goes a long way with experience. It seemed everyone working front of house were tired, ready to be done.It took two times for my husband to come back inside and check/ask to get his beer poured and served to him (15 minutes) thankful enough for the nice lady to apologize / admit they forgot and get it for him right away however and I appreciate her honesty and her help. She was good. I’ll have to say, I’d like to give this place another shot.I am interested in getting baked breads in general and their pizza night.Maybe just an off day for them, but hoping next time is better.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review and for sharing your honest feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the atmosphere and appreciated our dedication to clean, honest ingredients. We truly apologize that your experience with our service wasn’t up to our usual standards. You visited us during the busiest weekend we’ve ever had, and while that’s no excuse, it definitely stretched our team, which included some new staff members. We’re sorry that it affected the quality of your service, and we appreciate your understanding. We always strive to give our guests a great experience, and we hope you’ll give us another chance to show you what we’re really about—whether it’s for our baked breads or pizza night.Thank you again for your feedback, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon!
An appreciated find in a small town! Started with some baked goods- A beautiful apple pastry (cheers to that filling! Not overcooked or oversweet) and the tastiest peanut butter cookie: The crumb was perfect on the cookie, with a deep flavor due to it being made with a starter. The sourdough chocolate chip was also rich and dark- very good but it made me realize how much I prefer milk chocolate in my CCCs. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte which was a touch ginger heavy, and they didn't have alternate milks which is always disappointing in place with such quality offerings. The breakfast sandwich I got (bacon, tomato and cheese) was perfect.Their shredded homemade mozzarella was different but much welcomed, and the lamination on the croissant made me so grateful to be eating something well made. Took two fresh loaves to go- they have a small variety (as well as baguettes and bagels) and will slice for you to order. There is also an abundance of unique house-made grab and go pantry/fridge items, as well as their daily menus that change per mealtime. Outdoors seating, charming team members and an open view of the crafting was enjoyable. One star shy due to the lack of now-normal alternate milks. Would 100% recommend to both friends and strangers in the area for the peanut butter cookies alone. All the best xx

Hi Sharon, thank you so much for stopping in and we appreciate your detailed and thorough review. Our team works hard making everything 100% from scratch to help nourish our community. In regards to the milk alternatives, we have listened to our customers and we now offer coconut milk as it is inline with our message and mission but we do not offer other options like almond milk as it is very high in oxalates. We welcome you to stop in again and grab a coconut milk speciality espresso drink!
