I’ve been coming to this place for ten years and it’s a great bar.
All the bartenders are very friendly and know their stuff.
Especially ol’ Joe he can be very entertaining telling you stories of how it was back in the day around town.
Between him and the restaurant itself there’s a lot of history about the burgh in this place.
There are always friendly patrons to have great conversations.
I like the fish and chips here for lunch especially around lent.
They have a wide variety of beers and ciders with 24 taps so there’s something for everyone.

My Pop and I hired Joe the Bartender on November 3rd in 1986.
Who knew back then that 38 years later, Joe would be a bartending icon in the Downtown Pittsburgh service industry.
Infact, Joe was voted the #1 Bartender for 2023 in the City Paper "Best of Pittsburgh" Bartending Contest.

Asked if she could do a half cider half Guinness and she said yes.
This is what I got.
She shrugged her shoulders and didn't care.
Definitely pick some where else to go.
Maybe somewhere with an actual bartender.
Tell me you can’t do your job without telling me you can’t do your job.

I have great bartenders, or so I've been told hundreds of times.
And I can not imagine one of my staff "shrugging their shoulders" in indifference to a customer.
There is no place in Mitchell's for an employee such as this.
That being said, everyone has a bad day, and maybe my bartender was having one or, perhaps, you were. Cheers Jim Mitchell Owner

This place was the highlight of our trip Joe and shannah were the best bartenders I will make this a mission to come back to this bar for them!!! Go there everyday if you can! Also my opinion they deserve to get paid 50$ a hour!!!!
