Having had BBQ all over the country I was double this place would live up to the hype. However , it was recommended by a local (which isn't always on point) but it also had good ratings. The parking was a pain as it is a popular place with limited parking.I parked a block away and made the walk. I must say I was pleasantly surprised how good it was.The brisket well cooked, ribs a little on the dry side but still good and well seasoned. The hot guts was good. The sides , I especially liked the tallow fries potatoes.Very tasty and good texture. The collards was well cooked, not too soft , good texture and well seasoned. Best option to try things is to guy it by the pound. This way you can sample as much and variety is you like. Portions were good and prices were reasonable.Staff was friendly, the place was well laid out and kept clean. Good BBQ spot.It is the Best BBQ I have had outside of Texas.
Friends highly recommended this place for our Southern barbecue during our vacation. And they did not disappoint! We enjoyed potato salad, Mac and cheese, ribs, brisket, pickled onions and pickles, along with drinks including a frozen mule.It was so neat to see the slicers cut the meat right in front of us.It was great food and a fun experience! Only disappointment was their special - beef ribs - were out and it was still early.
Some of the best BBQ we've ever had.The sliced brisket was amazing.Everything was on point.Service was incredibly nice and attentive.Great inside area with comfy bar stools with backs (huge plus!), large shaded patio with picnic tables and Adirondack chairs! Definitely the best BBQ and some of the best food in general we had while in Charleston.A must go for sure.
