Laurene's Cafeteria is truly a hidden gem in Charlotte! 🌟 I visited for lunch and opted for the fried chicken, collards, and mac and cheese. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy, reminiscent of classic gas station fare I loved back in South End.

The mac and cheese? Pure comfort - creamy and homemade! I was greeted warmly by the chef, which made the experience feel even more special. The walls adorned with black and white civil rights images added a poignant touch to the casual atmosphere.

I can't wait to return and try more of their soul food offerings! 🍗✨
