We visited Las Palmas on our weekend trip to Dallas and reservations were made 3 weeks in advance. The vibe of the restaurant is impeccable, dim lights, very laid back.Despite the anticipation to try this restaurant, we ended up not having a huge appetite and wanted something lighter. My husband's friend ordered the Chile Relleno ($19) which looked delicious and tasted delicious. My husband ordered the tortilla soup ($15) which looked delicious but he didn't like how peppery it tasted and couldn't finish it.I ordered the shrimp/spinach ($24) but don't eat onions and since all their dressings were made with onions, asked for anything with my salad.I was given limes and olive oil.Which is fine with me, it's how I eat my salads at home. For the most expensive item ordered, it was the saddest and worst. The overpriced sad salad is why I leave this review because no attempt was made to make this salad taste good. They did not chop the spinach leaves, no salt or pepper was put on the salad, there was maybe a total of 4 shrimps that were chopped up and spread over the salad.See attached picture.Right out of the Costco baby spinach pack and yet cost $24 lol.I couldn't finish it since my jaw was hurting from chewing the spinach leaves and it tasted horrible as it was incredibly bitter (from not prepping a spinach salad properly). Obviously, a salad is not something a person goes to a Mexican restaurant for, so this doesn't reflect the entire restaurant's menu especially since our friend's food was delicious. However, I don't recommend the spinach/shrimp salad and hope this restaurant takes it off their menu or learn basic principles on how to make a good salad (you always chop the spinach AND bonus points if you massage it with olive oil since it cuts the bitterness).

We’re sorry to hear your salad wasn’t to your liking. We always hope that diners will let us know if they don’t love a dish as we’d be happy to replace it with something you’d love. While we see that you were visiting Dallas, we hope you’ll give us another chance if you make it back here again.
Beautiful restaurant, dimly lit and perfect for a celebration or date night. My boyfriend took me here on my birthday and we had a reservation.Food was delicious, drinks were served strong, and service was good.

We’re so glad to hear that it was a great experience. We look forward to serving yall for your next date night.
The food is always amazing and the drinks are top notch! The only thing I don’t like is how dark it is inside, even the bathrooms. When coming from the patio to inside to use the bathroom it’s like walking in the dark with a dim nightlight basically. But aside from that, I’d rate it 5 stars! Ask for Ruby, she was great!

Thanks for the great review, Kylie! We are housed in three historic homes, so it’s either bright as day in there, or moody. The wiring doesn’t exactly give us many options. But we do appreciate the feedback and we’ll continue to work on it!
