We had the course with wine pairing, it was a bit much. The food was good but I was so stuffed about half way through. The view of Rome at sunset was great, the staff was also very nice and helpful.
For the price and the 3 start michelling fame… the food was not what we spected, it look’s beautiful, but the taste was ok, we ordered the 10 course and wine pair, if one order the course the other is obligated to order the course too, which I regretted. We paid 1500 dollars on total, but we had have a better experience (regarding taste) in a restaurant in Wisconsin for 300 dollars for a 6 course dinner. The service was good, very good, but you go to eat also because you want food with an amazing taste, specially if the cost is 1000 dollars
When it comes to fine dining, it's pretty simple..you pay a lot and in return, you expect great food and a unique experience. The difference between La Pergola and the many other Michelin-star restaurants in the world is that this place gives you much more. Overall, the food was amazing and innovative (we went with a 7-course tasting menu), very kind and attentive staff (but not overbearing) and an unforgettable setting/ambiance while overlooking pretty much all of Rome from the top.If you're thinking about going here, don't hesitate.
