Jamaican restaurant, Barbecue restaurant, Lunch restaurant, Takeout restaurant
In the nocturnal ballet of Denverâs bustling culinary scene, a new star dances to the rhythm of Caribbean beats, casting a spellbinding glow that beckons the night owls and flavor aficionados alike. This luminary is the Jamaican Jerk and BBQ Restaurant, a haven where the soul of Jamaica infuses every morsel, every spice-laden whiff, transforming a simple late-night foray into a culinary pilgrimage. Venturing into this establishment is akin to stepping onto the vibrant streets of Kingston, where the air is thick with the promise of spice and the warmth of island hospitality. It was here, amidst the convivial buzz of fellow diners seeking refuge in the embrace of comfort food, that I encountered a dish that transcends the ordinary: the oxtail, an oft-overlooked cut transformed here into a symphony of flavors. The oxtail, slow-cooked to a point where it flirts with disintegration, yet holds its ground with a dignified tenderness, is a testament to the chefâs mastery over heat and time. Each bite is a revelation, the meat bathed in a sauce that whispers secrets of allspice, scotch bonnet, and a myriad of other spices, each note distinct yet harmoniously blended. This is not merely food; it is a narrative of Jamaican culture, served on a platter, each morsel resonating with the heartbeats of the island. The ambiance of Jamaican Jerk and BBQ marries simplicity with authenticity. The air is a mosaic of aromas, the walls adorned with motifs that speak of a land rich in history and vibrancy. It is a space that does not just welcome you; it envelops you in its narrative, inviting you to be not just a spectator but a participant in its culinary saga. Service here is imbued with the kind of warmth that is reminiscent of a Jamaican embrace. The staff, with their genuine smiles and keen intuition, navigate the floor with a grace that makes one feel not like a guest, but a cherished friend returning home. In a city teeming with culinary ventures, Jamaican Jerk and BBQ stands out not just for its food, but for its ability to transport you, if only for a meal, to a distant shore where the jerk is fiery, the smiles are wide, and the food is a heartfelt ode to a culture that celebrates life, bite by delicious bite. For those who venture into its welcoming embrace, the restaurant promises not just a meal, but a journey, one that lingers on the palate long after the last bite is savored.
I made an order online for- Fire Pit BBQ chicken with the rice &peas and side with steamed cabbage.Along with two drinks and âforget me notâ chocolate cake.It was amazing/delicious, the main meal was cooked perfectly and when it arrived it was still hot despite it being order online which takes up time for the food to cool down.I also want to thank the nice young lady who called me to let me know about other options of drinks when one wasnât available.Thank you for your service, for always getting things right, next time I will definitely try out the ox-tail âşď¸
Iâve now tried this place twice in a span of 3 months.First time the lady at the front was super nice and friendly. However, my order was messed up, but I was already home when I realized it. The first trip, I also had hair in my jerk chicken.Fried dumplings were overly greasy, yet still hard..oxtail lacked flavor for sure. The rice & peas taste like bagged rice (Microwaveable) maybe uncle Benâs. Second visit was yesterday and again, the service was great, yet the food unfortunately fell short.I gave the rice & peas another go and again it tasted like microwave/instant riceâŚ.No coconut milk or fresh thyme, no pimento berry, perhaps frozen veggies. The brown stew chicken lacked flavor, the jerk spice was there, not sure about the grilling method though.Taste more like pan chicken.Coco bread was fine, beef patty was good as well.I hope this place gets better and takes the necessary steps to get better. Not here to bash, just an honest perspective and I hope it provides some insight in order to grow. Bless-
Owner response
Rich, sorry your experience wasnât what you were expecting. A call to the manager wouldâve given the reassurance that your opinion of how we produce our meals is nothing like youâve described here. Everyone taste buds vary and weâll not be able to satisfy everyone. Your perspective is just that a perspective and not he truth. If your aim wasnât to bash a conversation wouldâve been the appropriate thing to do. What you think is hair is actually ginger, we donât cook bag rice or uncle Benâ.we use 2 types of pimento .Donât know what you had that you thought was frozen vegetable but we only do Mediterranean salad and steamed cabbage.Jerk chicken is pan chicken.Have a nice day and be sure to return.
