Jalea Peruvian Bistro

This is not your typical Main Street restaurant.
If you are looking for a hamburger, this is not the place.
This is something exquisite and divine! Authentic Peruvian cuisine with attentive service, delicious cocktails and top-notch quality meals.
The menu is not extensive which allows them to offer you chef prepared dishes from scratch, and you can taste that!! I cannot wait to come back and try additional entrees but their Lomo Saltado was hard to top.
The yucca fries with cheese are a delicious appetizer, along with the complimentary dried Peruvian corn.
I did get to sample the pork belly which was the most tender cut of pork I think I've ever had, creating a dish that tastes like the fall season.
Everything was so good, bravo!! Reservations recommended.

You may have heard that Jalea was recently rated as one of the top restaurants in St Louis and wondered if it lives up to the hype? The answer is absolutely. Wonderful food, top-notch Service, the Peruvian slant is unique, and the fact that this restaurant exists in St Charles is remarkable. I f you care about fine dining at all and live in the area you simply must go.

My first time dining at Jalea.
I wasn't too hungry so I got the Yuca Fries and ceviche taquitos.
The ceviche was really good and I would definitely get the ceviche meal next time.
I got a glass of sangria which was very tasty and they had some dried Peruvian corn kernels to munch on.
Very cute place, I can't wait to go back.
