First-timer, I discovered Flying Fish by searching for fried fish options online, and it seemed to fit the bill perfectly based on reviews and the menu. The restaurant has a unique late 80s, early 90s TV show-style decor, which I found quite eclectic and charming. It was a fairly clean establishment with plenty of options to choose from, the waitress was friendly, helpful, and provided great recommendations. I ordered the Fried Catfish basket with fries and two hush puppies, rating it a 7/10.Although I didn’t mind the wait, the fries and hush puppies weren’t freshly made, and I was disappointed by the portion size of the hush puppies.Additionally, I ordered two sides—coleslaw (9/10) and green beans (7/10), which were slightly salty and also surprised by there unique ketchup which had a spicy kick to it. Despite these minor drawbacks, I enjoyed the experience and appreciated the diverse decor and food options.I plan to return in the future.Thank you, Flying Fish!”
This place is part of the Cowtown Culture and certainly a stable of the cultural district. The food is always spot on and fresh.Parking can be a challenge during lunch, etc, but the available space is close by if needed. I had fried catfish with fries & Diana had Ceviche.we finished it off with the bread pudding, which t came out quick and h.Each bite was better than the 1st.
This place is the best seafood and best prices.Laid back atmosphere. This is one of our new favorite spots, we will be back alot more. The only hard part is finding a parking spot. But worth it.
