El Indio De Tijuana Taco Shop is a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic Mexican flavors! 🌮 The atmosphere is casual, making it perfect for a laid-back meal with friends or family.

I tried the carne asada tacos and they were incredible - juicy, well-seasoned, and topped with fresh salsa! Their breakfast burrito is also a must-try, generously stuffed and perfect for a quick bite.

The outdoor seating area is a nice touch, and parking was a breeze with plenty of free options available. Plus, it’s a kids-friendly spot. Cash only, so come prepared! Overall, a wonderful spot for any meal of the day!

Absolutely my favorite Mexican food of all time! I’ve been going to “The Barrel” for 30+ years!!! Their salsa, I hate to admit, is comparable in greatness to my own salsa.
It’s changed recently with the changing of cooks, but it’s still an awesome stop any time!!! Current pics on my 7/20/21 visit.

I've lived in and around Esco since '95.
The Barrel has always been there, but for some reason or another, never visited this place until today after staring at it from the gas station across the street.
I give every taco shop a fair shot.
Impress me with your most basic gringo fare, a Carne asada burrito.
First thing I always order from a "new to me" spot.
It usually tells me all I need to know about the place.
Unfortunately for the barrel what I got was disappointing and confusing.
I don't ever remember getting a Carne asada burrito with lettuce on it from anywhere else.
No Pico de gallo, just guacamole, meat and wilted with heat lettuce.
What the what? One and done.
Should've just went to Albertos.
I paid close to $12 after tax.

One of the best California burritos in Escondido.
They have authentic mexican favorites you can't go wrong here!
