al pastor tacos were pretty good but the chicken was just okay.The rice was what you would expect.I didn't have the menudo but my friend liked it.I think I need to go back and try it again
Service was non existent even though there were 4 servers and only 3 tables occupied.Server never came back to table after serving meals.Carne Assada $13.99 was unremarkable and plain. Tacos al pastor $8.99 meat was dry and tasted like it was left over and had spent a few nights in an airtight, smelly fridge.This is the only restaurant in several block radius and its next to a busy casino.They could do way better.
If you want “real” authentic Mexican food this is the place.We drive 60 minutes just to get there. The tortillas are handmade and the pastor is well done at giving a taste exactly like those in Mexico. We can find so many “Mexican” restaurants but most are American-based food inspired by Mexican gastronomy.But only very few places offer authenticity.“El Camino Real” is a real jewel in Kansas City, Kansas.
