Cugino and Elio are both restaurants inside the Hoxton that serves breakfast and lunch and turns into a bar at night. You do not have to be a guest of the hotel to experience the amazing food, modern and chick atmosphere of this place. I went here for brucnh with my friend. We ordered a burger, a pesto tomato pasta, and a roasted cabbage on the side. The burger was surprisingly good.Gourmet style. The cheese complements well with the smoky patty, soft and golden toasted bun <3.The pasta did not disappoint as well.Overall food presentation was also excellent! However after the meal we had some coffee and they were a bit diluted + burnt. Another time, I went for some cocktails and the batender recommended my friend (who doesn't drink often) a passion fruit cocktail and he absolutely loves it! I am a hugeee fan of the architecture+interior design of this hotel, very modern chick with different colors, the ceramic plates and glasses they use are also very pretty <3
The bar looks amazing, interior design top notch, and it has a beautiful terrace too to sit outside for a drink or some food.We were lucky as we had some good weather and we could have a drink outside but inside it has a DJ several times a week which creates a really good ambiance. The only negative comment would be the long wait to have a coffee in the morning. It could be noted that they were short staffed, but I gather it’s because we didn’t go in high season.
We went for breakfast and as soon as the waiter heard that we are not hotel guests they started being hostile. They wouldn’t even look at us when talking to us.2 couples came after us one in designer clothes and one were guests and they were met with smiles and laughter by the waiters. The two couples who came after us got their food before us despite the fact that we ordered the same food.We waited for 20 minutes for a toast bread that wasn’t that good and very overpriced. They also mixed our receipt with the other table, and we paid 30€ for 2 toasted bread, 1 coffee and a small glass of orange juice, and I was still hungry after.I would not recommend if you are not a guest or if you don’t walk around in designer clothes.
