Ordered: Steak Burrito $14.30 A flour tortilla stuffed with grilled steak and jack cheese, topped with Hatch Green Chile (hot) Sauce.
Served with Mexican rice and refried beans Received: A dried out flour tortilla with grilled steak and no jack cheese that was not topped with green chili hot sauce. What’s going on Chuy’s? Loyal customer for 34 years. 😕

A Decent Tex-Mex Experience at Chuy's I recently visited Chuy's for a Tex-Mex fix and opted for the Taco and Enchilada Combo along with the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.
The overall experience was okay, with the dishes offering a decent representation of Tex-Mex flavors. The Taco and Enchilada Combo provided a mix of flavors, but it didn't quite reach the level of excellence I was hoping for.
The Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, while enjoyable, didn't stand out as a must-try dish. The atmosphere at Chuy's was lively, contributing to a pleasant dining experience.
The service was prompt, and the staff was friendly. In summary, Chuy's offers a satisfactory Tex-Mex experience, but there is room for improvement in elevating the flavors and uniqueness of their dishes.
If you're in the mood for a casual Tex-Mex meal, Chuy's could be a reasonable choice.

This would have been 3 except the creamy jalapeno and pico that they brought to the table with chips at the beginning of the meal was incredible.
It was on point this time so you get a 4 Chuy's! Sometimes it's too mayonnaisey.
This is a solid Tex-Mex dining option but it's sliding down on the scale for me; it's just not fresh tasting Tex-Mex, but I'm not sure if it's really changed or if Austin has just gotten better options 🤔.
It's fine, just not knock your socks off.
And I would say it's just the Lamar location that smells a little dank, but the Duval and Round Rock do too so I don't know.....except I do because I've worked in my share of kitchens so I know that smell 🫣.
Y'all have got to do a serious deep clean on all locations.
