Restaurant
Unique restaurant located at Egyptian hotel.I like the decoration. However, dinning time that they give per group is 90 mins.Foods came out quite slow.We wanted to order dessert, but they asked us to takeaway instead because of time limit. Foods were interesting especially the tortilla as it’s mixed with squid ink. However, I am not impressed with any dish. Cocktails were not well balanced. Some of them were too smoky till bitter, and some were too sour.
I was very impressed by Chilte- definitely worth the wait.A few weeks ago, I stopped by on a Thursday and found a 3 hour waitlist, so I made a reservation instead.😂 Definitely not a "just pop in" kind of place (somewhat ironic considering they began as a farmer's market stall).Although the menu is small, I was impressed with their vegetarian selection and the quality of the food.I had the tacos de birria with squid ink corn tortillas and a miso consomme dipping broth. For sure, the most elaborate tacos I've ever had- cut > dip > add salsa > add cabbage for each bite- but definitely worth. The drinks were great too- especially the cardamami and diablito.Service was great, and the ambiance was spot on for high end experimental Mexican cuisine.100% will be back when I'm craving those tacos...
We went here for all the rave reviews of this new Latin Fusion dining experience on Grand Avenue just west of downtown.Reservations on Open Door are highly suggested to set a time and day you prefer as seating is limited. We first ordered a cocktail and a cerveza and both were awesome. We the ordered the mole flauta and mussels for appetizers. These were both excellent choices. We did come for dinner but the appetizers did fill us up.We will be back Chilte.Well done!
