Sandwich shop, American restaurant
I was very excited that the old school was back.Such a marvelous sandwich.I stopped off at the rolling oaks location today doing some shopping and craving a cheesesteak.I was browsing the menu on the wall and the cooks for scrubbing the griddle.I approached the counter to start my order and the gentleman with the facial hair starting cussing under his breath and shaking his head looking very upset that I approached the counter. The brand great, the food is great but lack of customer experience from a not so cheap sandwich restaurant is uncalled for.I walked away to explore different options at the mall and will not return.
Was my first time eating at Charley's.I went with the cashiers recommendation which was the regular Philly cheese steak.Ordered it as a combo with regular fries and a drink. The food came out pretty quick, everything was made after I ordered and the fries were crispy and hot.Sadly my fries were my favorite part of the meal. The Philly cheesesteak lacked flavor.Almost all the flavor was from the pickles and lettuce and cheese. The meat had very little flavor and it wasnt until my last few bites that I got any bell pepper.I added some seasoned salt to my fries and then decided to add some to the sandwich after I finished the first half. I remembered the guy asking if I liked onions cheese and mushroom, but didnt remember seeing any mushroom in the first half, so I opened the second half of my sandwich to take a closer look.Only a small slice of mushroom could be seen melted into one of the cheese slices. The freshness of the food was good, the customer service at the register was excellent, in fact he had me excited to try the food. The speed at which the food came out was very good. However the flavor of the sandwich was lacking. I'll probably return again and order a different item and specify extra mushrooms and onion. But for now my rating is four-stars because I've had a lot of more flavorful Philly cheesesteaks.
If I was granted three wishes, each wish would be to eat a chicken teriyaki cheesesteak with fried onions. It would be my final request if it were my final meal.If you do not believe me try it for yourself. Yummy!
