Friendly, welcoming, and spacious place with dart boards and pool tables. The food is well above run of the mill bar food. I come here to eat lunch fairly regularly without consuming alcohol. I have never had a bad dish here. This time I enjoyed the tuna sandwich. Fresh, tasty tuna salad on a toasted bread. Simple, but fantastic. The sandwich was served with a delicious, homemade chili. Really solid meal for a decent price.
Casey Jones is basically a hole in the wall sports/grungy dive bar with no real identity. It had a full bar of day drinkers and maybe 5 tables in use (including me) with a full staff. It's overpriced for what it is.However, relatively average priced overall for each menu item.It has a grungy (but very clean) look and vibe.My waitress (haley) made no attempt to introduce herself and was somewhat incompetent at best.I asked for a pitcher of ice water.I got a pitcher of cold-ish water with a few cubes of ice and a straw. No cup/glass, nothing.I had to ask her what her name was and for napkins and a glass. The fries were good, only slightly salty (just the way I personally liked them), but even then, the water was actually the best part of my lunch.I got a rueben sandwich with a light thousand island dressing and no saurkraut.Ther was actually NO thousand island on it, and i had to ask for a side. It's made with house roasted corned beef on grilled rye bread. The sandwich was barely hot at all when i got it, and the rye bread was flavorless. The house roasted corned beef was salty and salty, with extra salt and very little meaty flavor. There was so much oil and fat that the bread was soggy after about 1 minute. The fries were lukewarm at best.Within 3 minutes, the fries were stone cold and flavorless. However, they never lost their crispness.(That's good, at least). The baseball game was so loud that even with bose and quiet comfort earbuds 2 on, I could barely hear myself think.Even listening to an audiobook at a higher volume than normal, I could still hear the game loud and clear.None of the staff could hear me from 5 feet away, even when i was practically yelling at them.I must have tried to get someone's attention at least 5 times and even had one person look me right in the eye from across the room and ignore me as I gestured for h him to come over.I finally had to get up and walk over to my server, just to ask for the check. With the horrible service and subpar (at best) food, they still had the audacity to suggest tip amounts.(15% 18%, and 20%)Including tax, it was $17 for a dining experience that was at best horrible and at worst overbearingly loud with a side smell of vomit. The bathroom was disgusting and vomit-inducingly smelly.2 out of 10 and no thank you on a revisit.(Also, the wifi didn't work, and I couldn't get a data signal inside at all.)
Great service! overhead traintracks w.Trains running along them was a pleasant distraction from the sports on all the monitors. My current fave dish is the john Henry burger.I plan to eat here often, esp.Since I live 5 min away!
