First time here at this restaurant.Better make a reservation if you plan dine here.20% gratuity for any party size.Really!!!.Most of the food we ordered was good. Some was not worth due to the price like the Beef tongue and Ny strip @ $17-$19 for 2 small sticks, Over cooked! Be prepared to pay about $80-$100 each
I had heard of this spot before but then made a reservation after I read about it from a New York Times article. We got an indoor seat at the bar.Food and drinks came out quick.I had no idea that the charcoal grilled meats would be one single piece. Everything we ate was really good such as The Tori Karapon, Sake Evo Crudo, a bunch of skewered meat and my favorite of them all the Duck Ramen. Also, definitely try the piece of meat with a persimmon around it and I believe it’s a peach in the summer time. I wish I had taken a plate of that Duck Ramen home! If you want the full experience sit inside and if you can’t stand the smoke from the grilling, you can sit outside.
Id pass for something better… A mandatory 20% gratuity and only two persons eating? And the.Had the nerve to have a tip function when signing for the check??? The food was unique and flavorful, though some was over cooked. We placed our order and the waitress forgot a core item and then brought it only after we asked about it.A so so experience, I would pass next time.I DONT HAVE A PICTURE OF THE RAMEN BECAUSE IT CAME TOO LATE…With no apology for forgetting it.I will pass next time.
