Excellent food and awesome staff! I visited Charleston to drop my son off at the Citadel for his Knob year.
We saw the flag of the USA flying on a pole in their parking lot and the Citadel flag right below it.
(Go Dogs!!) My son asked to eat there.
The food was great! I ended up eating three meals there over the length of my trip.
Everything was excellent: pulled pork, steak fries, mac and cheese, onion rings, hamburger (all in), cole slaw, corn bread, and baked beans.
Their sweet tea was some of the best I've had.
The staff were welcoming and friendly.
They patently waited each time I had to wrestle what good food to order next.
When I return to Charleston, I will definitely return for a meal.

That’s pretty impressive.
We are flying the fly because like you we have a knob and Citadel this year.
He’s been there for about a month because he joined the football team so we can share a little bit of baby blue pride together.

Amazing food, friendly staff, and CLEAN.
It is hard to find a restaurant that can deliver quality in all of these categories. If you are looking for a spot to grab something to eat-you can’t go wrong with this place.
Anything you order will be delicious-but, do yourself a favor and don’t forget to order the onion rings!

Hey Ya'll I am so excited to tell you all about this place! I have been struggling to find a really good BBQ place in SC.
On the way back from the beach a dear friend of mine was talking about Bessinger's and how I just have to try it.
The first things that got me excited was seeing they had turkey sandwiches! When I the BBQ was Carolina gold I have to admit I was a bit a hesitant, since I have never had it before.
I got the basket which came with fries and an onion ring.
Now in my mind I am like 1 onion ring whats up with that.
Then i got the meal.
I don't even know how to accurately describe what happened in my mouth when i tried that sandwich.
It was by far the best BBQ turkey sandwich I have had to date.
And that singular onion ring was HUGE.
I absolutely melted into food bliss when i took a bite of it.
The batter tasted almost like a funnel cake batter but a little less sweet! OMG you HAVE GOT to check this place out.
It is SOOOOOOO good, and worth the cost.
Needless to say I highly recommend this place to EVERYONE!!! Follow me for more local reviews 😉

My family and I agree with you on the turkey though, it is the sleeper on the menu.
