Mexican restaurant
This is a cozy Mexican restaurant with a KC barbecue influence. The cocktails are imaginative and delicious. The food menu is limited, but that just means everything on it is thoughtfully created and prepared. The elote is a fun twist, using corn two ways - as kernels and fritters, with a delicious mayo and cayenne sauce. My wife had the smoked carnitas, which were tender and flavorful.I had the smoked beef rib, which was amazing. The bark was beautiful, the bome came right out of the tender meat, and the accompanying salsa was delicious and played beautifully off the richness of the beef.We will definitely be back.
We really enjoyed our dinner here.We had the queso fundido for an appetizer which was delicious with the yoli tortillas.I ordered the suadero which was kind of like brisket bbq tacos and the meat was tender and delicious. My husband got the smoked carnitas which he liked. We also ordered the ice cream which was covered in a caramel sauce with granola which made it taste like apple pie.
Read about this restaurant in the KC magazine..made it there for a Sunday brunch.Friendly wait staff, cozy interior with the exception of the pancakes being a little on the doughy side the food was great..will try lunch or dinner next time.
