First time in Philly…decided to grab a quick bite close to the hotel and oh man, I wasn’t expecting this! I ordered the Bao Boa and the Sticky Chicky and they were both so delicious.
The buns were super fresh and the meats extremely flavorful 🩷 I just got two and it was plenty for me.
Thank you!

We're delighted to hear that you had a wonderful first experience in Philly at BAO NINE! It's fantastic to know that you enjoyed our Bao Boa and Sticky Chicky - they're definitely customer favorites.
Thank you for your kind words, and we hope to see you again soon for another delicious meal!

The Kid had been pestering me for a year to visit Bao Nine, and during a recent visit to Philadelphia I had to opportunity to discover why! The place was spotless, with very calming (I know, strange, but true) color scheme throughout the property.
The window into the kitchen was a nice touch. The counter staff were courteous and efficient, taking our orders and delivering when ready. We (The Kid, The Missus (bless 'er) and I) each ordered a combo of three bao comprising of a 'Bao Boa, Sticky Chicky, Bang Bang and the Prime Time.
This made sharing a breeze. The buns were ridiculously fresh and delish! Watching the staff make the dough while we ate didn't hurt our perception of freshness either.
Each item was very tasty, and each of us had a favorite: Mine, the Bang Bang; The Kid, The Sticky Chicky; The Missus (bless 'er), the Bao Boa. We added a side of taro chips, which were a nice crispy counter to the soft textures of the bao.
We also ordered a cucumber salad dressing with a slightly spicy mayo-like dressing, and was outstanding.
The cukes were crispy, fresh and cooling on the palate (despite the liveliness of the dressing). All in all, I can guarantee that it won't be a year before we visit Bao Nine again.
Definite recommendation for a lunch stop near Rittenhouse Square.

Thank you for sharing your fantastic experience at Bao Nine! It sounds like you had a delightful time exploring their menu with your family.
The spotless and calming ambiance, along with the window into the kitchen, added to the overall dining experience.
Your detailed descriptions of the bao—like the Bao Boa, Sticky Chicky, Bang Bang, and the Prime Time—make my taste buds tingle! It's wonderful to hear that the freshness of the buns and the interactive view of the kitchen staff preparing the dough enhanced your meal.
The variety in flavors and textures, along with each family member's favorite pick, truly showcases the diversity and quality of their offerings. The addition of taro chips as a crispy side and the cucumber salad with its refreshing and slightly spicy mayo-like dressing seem like perfect complements to the bao.
Your recommendation for Bao Nine as a lunch spot near Rittenhouse Square is sure to help others seeking a delicious dining experience in Philadelphia. Thank you for sharing your positive review, and I'm glad to hear that your family thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
Happy dining on your next trip back!

First time trying bao buns.
So I asked for recommendations.
I ordered crispy chick, bao boa prime rib, bang bang shrimp.
Looked very cute with soft pink buns.
Yummy! All of it, very yummy! Two would have been enough, but I went with the trio so I could try more things.
Very happy I stopped in today on a trip into Philly!

That sounds like a delightful culinary adventure! Bao buns are indeed a delicious treat, and it's great to hear that you enjoyed trying out different flavors.
It's always fun to explore new dishes when traveling.
Philly has some great food spots to discover!
